I’ll start off by saying I’m horrible at pairing clothes and accessories. My engagement photos were the first time I ever learned how to layer clothes, lol. So you’re dealing with a novice.
I’m a curvy bride (small waist, curvy hips, thighs, and booty//the only part of myself that I am self concious about is my upper thighs) and I have fallen in love with a rehearsal supper dress:
#1: Do you think it will look ok on a curvy bride? They do have a custom measurement box for ordering, so I can measure so it has some extra length.
#2: Am I showing too much skin?
#3: What accessories would look great? I have a pair of earrings that I’m borrowing from my mom because I fell in love with them. They are diamond studs, so I need to pair them with a cute necklace.
#4: Hair up or down with this dress? My hair is slightly below shoulder-length.
If anyone has any ideas and has pictures to go along with those ideas I would appreciate it. I am begging at your feet to help this poor, lost soul, lol. If you have any OTHER suggestions for dresses (preferably white, but I would consider light pink) that would be great too!
By the way, the rehearsal is July 5th and the dinner is outside at about 6p, so it will not be far enough into the evening to cool down. I’ll also be wearing the dress again on a cruise to the Florida Keys, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman Islands.

What a gorgeous dress! I think since you have a small waist it will look really good. Maybe add a little shawl or scarf to place over your shoulders if you are worried about showing too much skin. I think hair down and soft curls would be amazing 🙂

I’m curvy, too, and I’ve worn a dress of that same cut that I loved! It felt amazing. I had to cover my shoulders for part of the evening, so I wore a little shrug with it.
Hair up or down, both will look great. Diamond studs will be very pretty with it – I’d find a small pendant, or go without a necklace.

It looks great! You could always add a cardigan or shrug if you’re worried about showing too much skin.

I have a similar body type- little waist but big hips, butt, thighs, etc.- and I personally dislike wearing sheaths. They don’t always fit right because either the top is too baggy or the bottom is too tight, so I tend to prefer empire waisted or a-line cuts- something that comes away from the body a little more and flows, kind of like these below:
I just feel more comfortable when attention is drawn away from my least favorite areas. However, that’s just my preference! If you want to flaunt it, go for it!

While it’s a cute dress, I wouldn’t be able to wear it b/c I’m too curvy….think hourglass and I’m exactly that. I think it would look obscene on me but that’s just me. Are you comfortable showing off that much curviness? If so, I say go for it.
I’d wear my hair down unless it’s super hot. And pick your favorite color (maybe even a wedding color) and wear matching necklace and shoes. And that website has cute wraps you might want to check out if you’re worried about showing too much skin.

How are you wearing your hair for the wedding up or down? I would do the opposite of whatever you are doing for the big day. I think shapewise it will be great if you find the right undergarments. I would pair with a necklace with coral or turquoise accents just to give it a fun splash of color. I also think you need a nice bracelet or watch. What are you doing for shoes? Make-up? (I’m obsessed with this stuff) 🙂

Beautiful dress! I’m actually wearing something pretty similar: Clicky
1. I’m curvier too, and I think it will look great on!
2. If your rehearsal is in a church, it might be good to add a cardigan, shawl, or little jacket for that part (my rehearsal is in a Catholic church so I’ll definitely be wearing one). But otherwise I think it’s fine.
3. Since it’s just a rehearsal, I’d probably do a simple necklace (Clicky just the necklace though). I also like the idea of a pendant.
4. I would go with hair down or half up/half down. I think up my show too much skin – unless you have a cardigan or something.

I think it will look great! If you want to keep it more casual then I would do more casual hair. If it’s up I would say wear some fab earring and no necklace, if your hair is down wear a fab necklace no earrings. I would grab a cardigan or even a white dressy blazer to wear with it if you’re chilly (I recently saw a great white blazer by lauren Conrad for Kohl’s, think it was $50 on sale). Wear some fun shoes with it too, I would go with nude pumps or even a pair of colored ones, like teal.

Since it sounds like you are a pear you need to go with someting that goes in at the waist and flows away from the hips.
This website will help!

Thank you everyone!!
Def. going to wear my hair down or half up because I agree with a PP that it may be too much skin.
Jacket or shawl for the church would be a good idea too I think.
Should I add some color? Maybe since my wedding colors include pink maybe pink heels and a pink necklace?
@soonergirl518: I will probably just do eyeliner, mascara, and maybe some pink eyeshadow. Didn’t give any thought to makeup oops!
