My fiance and I went to Sage on the square and they mentioned they could do rehearsal dinners there. I want to say that the manager we spoke with said that their upstairs room could hold seventy five or less, but I might be mistaken. Either way, they might be worth checking out.

Also, have you looked into The Warren? How about Wahoo?

Oooh, eating is my specialty!

We are huge fans of Tacqueria del Sol, which would be a pretty cheap meal for 70! If they won’t let you buy out the restaurant, they cater!

You might want to look at Stella, a mid-scale new-ish Italian place that is owned by the Doc Chey’s people [it’s on Memorial near Oakland Cemetary]. It’s unique and probably affordable. I’ve been shutout by private events before there, so I’m sure they do them.

One of the best ways to look for places with that capacity is OpenTable.com’s list of Banquet Facilities. If you find a place with private dining for that many people, you won’t have to buy out the whole restaurant. http://www.opentable.com/info/banquets.aspx?m=16

Also, my best friend had her Saturday morning wedding reception at Sage. Their ‘private’ seating only holds 50, so if you’ve got more than that you’ll have to buy out the whole place.
