- Wedding: October 2014 - Disney
After my last 2 fun Disney getaways, and christmas out of the way I am finally back into the wedding mentality. Right now I am tackling a lot of things photographer, cake logistics, dresses, etc. My big thing to tackle this month is our Rehersal Dinner/Welcome Party. I’m happy to say we are almost done with those details! I even bouth my rehersal party dress!
Our welcome party is for everyone at our wedding because we are doing a destination wedding. We’d been going between Raglan Road and Splittsville for months but we’ve finally decided to do Splittsville due to cost. I dont feel the need to feed 50+ people two dinners over 100 bucks a head in a row. Splittsville is an upscale bowling alley, and we will have semi-private lanes. Hubs family does family bowling on Fridays so we felt this was a great activity to get our families to know each other, and have people mingle. The bowling has lots of music and fun lights. In addition to this they have pool tables, and an archade on property I believe. The food is also a lot better than a standard bowling alley. We will be serving stir fry bowls, assorted pizza, chicken tenders, veggie trays, fruit trays, and desserts. We will have an open tab for alcohol as well. I feel confident this will be a really fun way for people to meet. In addition to setting this up I picked my dress for this and the rehersal (the rehersal will be limited to those in the wedding).
My wedding dress is super formal. Its a mermaid/trumpet with heavy satin and lace. I wanted something fun, that also fit the theme of our wedding halloween. I went with a 50’s style purple spiderweb dress! I felt 50’s rockabilly plays well with the whole bowling alley, its fun, and its another side of my quirky vintage loving personality. Our colors are Orange, Green and Purple and the theme is Nightmare Before Christmas/Haunted Mansion. I am super stoked my dress should be here next week! Splittsville: My dress:
