Totally fine. He should get to know your husband, as well, and you guys can hopefully all become good friends again.

I actually had a similar thing happen to me, and I know hubs was glad that I finally heard from this friend. He actually called to get our address so he could invite us to his wedding! So yeah, completely platonic friendships, no problem. I don’t see any issue with that at all

Glad you heard from him!

You should go catch up with him! If I were in your shoes I would take my Darling Husband with me, it will make Darling Husband feel better, and be nice for your old friend to see whats going on in your life rather than just seeing Darling Husband on FaceBook!

I had something similar happen recently… I randomly met up with my (girl) bff from hs on my last trip back to my hometown. Towards the end of HS she had started hanging out a lot with another friend, which was fine, but I think I felt a little rejected/replaced so the friendship didn’t last through college. Well, while we were getting drinks on that trip back, she told me that she was actually dating that other “friend” and they were now engaged!

Ok, so it isn’t THAT similar, but our friendship has picked up right where we left off. All those feelings I had in HS about being replaced have totally gone away bc I know I wasn’t replaced. I think I just have the same kind of joy that you have from rediscovering an old friendship and realizing that some things really don’t change 🙂 SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!!

I think that should be between you and your Darling Husband. If he is ok with it and you would be ok with it if he rekindled a friendship with a female friend, then all is well IMO.

Congrats on findings a long lost friend. I wouldn’t use the word “rekindle” but other than that I think it’s totally fine. Just be open and honest for everyone and it’s all good!

I think it’s fine, if your hubs thinks it’s fine.  Congrats on your friendship! 🙂

Seems perfectly fine to me. Just have your Darling Husband meet him from the get-go so they can both get comfortable with each other. Who knows, they might become really good friends with each other and leave you out of the picture. lol!!
