I saw a pinterest photo where tables were song names. When the song played, your table got up to buffet.  I thought about doing this, but we are going to end up with dinner being served family style.

I just told my caterer to have my parents/ and older family friends to go first then they can choose whoever they want. I just want people to be able to get their food and eat! 🙂

Fiance and I will go table to table, greet, quick pic & release to the buffet.  We thought we would kill 3 birds with one stone 🙂  The logistics of table greeting/thanking guests is tricky b/c you don’t want to look like you are rushed and want to get away.  But even 5 minutes at each table would take us over an hour.  This way, guests will want to only say a quick hello b/c they’ll want to get their food!

We thought we would just pick the numbers randomly (I’m a statistics professor), so that fits.

@Tandysha:  we were going to have couples trivia so that people aren’t just watching everyone else get to go eat, and then there will be more incentive to participate.

Some fun ideas:

You can put numbers 1-3 under chairs. A person who has the number called can go up.

You can call birth months out, whoever is born within that month can go up.

Call certain colours, and whoever is wearing that colour can go up).

You can call out “all the single ladies” or “all the single fellas” or “couples”. 😛

Gosh… so many ways that you can do it without making people feel too awkward about it.
