We purchased dresses from bestbridalprices.com One of my girls tried on the dress at a bridal salon to see the fit and quality, and we just ordered online according to the designers size chart. We got them for about $100 less than what the bridal salon wanted to charge. We had the dresses in about 8 weeks, and the quality was great. Ours were authentic Dessy Alfred Sung dresses, not knock offs.

I am using netbride.com, I was going to us House of Brides until I found a ton of bad reviews.  So far I can’t find anything bad about netbride and they are rated A+ w/the BBB and have a good history of customer service, and they use UPS for shipping which helps with tracking.  They also give a guaranteed latest in-your-hands date.  I am placing my order tomorrow.

I’ve also placed an order with netbride. IIRC, their selection may be somewhat smaller than besbridalprices, but their prices were lower on most things I got a price quote on. And the customer service during the quote and order process was great. So, yeah, a possible option.

Okay, first of all, you can order from any local salon no matter where your girls are. They just get measured by a local seamstress or bridal salon by them (usually for free) and send a form in to the store you are using. That is standard practice.

If, however, you want to go online, I can personally say that houseofbrides.com is legit. I ordered my dress from them for a friend’s wedding a few years ago. When ordering online, however, do beware that sometimes dresses might be from different dye lots and may look slightly different in color. Also, if something goes wrong or someone’s dress doesn’t come in time or someone orders the wrong thing, whatever–you are screwed.

I have bridesmaids in two different cities (NYC and Chicago), and I went with JCrew dresses, because they can either just order online or go into a specialty store to try on.  Super simple and easy!

@Mrs. Bear Cheese Pie:  No problem! It was easy for us. We ordered 4 different styles, same color, fabric, and designer and had no issues with quality or color matching. They were identical to the swatch I received from the designer. Seriously, so easy! And like I said before, they are authentic, not reproductions.

I just ordered my flower girl’s dress on Light in the Box. It took under 2 weeks to come in and it’s exactly as pictured and extremely well made.
