Is it common for a church to provide marriage certificate if we get married in a church? It is not a legal marriage license, but it’s just a certificate saying that so and so got married on XYZ and by which pastor.
I grew up in Asia, where church normally does that when we get married in Asian Church. I asked my now local church (in US) but they do not provide that.

My Catholic church in Texas provided an unofficial certificate.

I assumed all churches did, but apparently they don’t. Our church has a certificate for all types of ceremonies: baby dedication, baptism, wedding, etc.

Nope. In my experience all over our great nation the majority of churches do not provide a unofficial certificate. They should though!

We received an unofficial certificate from my Lutheran church. I think it varies by Christian denominations, and the specific congregation’s typical practice regarding weddings.
