I think it’s in really poor taste when people use such a sensitive and serious word like “rape” to describe situations like this. I know it’s common in some people’s vocabulary, but I cringe every time I hear/read it and think it desensitizes the true meaning of the word.

Sorry you feel like DB ripped you off. Glad to hear you were able to get it done for much less.

Undoubtedly, someone on WeddingBee has actually been raped. FYI, it’s not like being charged too much by a business at all. I think you could have picked a more sensitive word for your headline.

Edit: beat me to it.

@babylou: that was my first thought when I read the title. Poor choice of words.

@SFreeman2187: Did you go to an independent seamstress? $30 sounds much more reasonable. I’m glad you got it worked out!

$30 dollars seams SO cheap for a bustle.  Are you happy with it?  I am paying $450 for my alterations, which I thought was a good deal.

That does sound high. I went to a dry cleaner and the seamstress there took my dress in and shortened it for me for $75.
