We moved in together about a year and a half ago. I wanted to go CRAZY spending money on furniture and paint, etc. But boyfriend said we should take it easy and slow. I wasn’t expecting a proposal for at least 3-5 years, I didn’t know it was coming in 3-5 months. He knew we’d need the money for the wedding.
Anyway, a year and a half later we are married! We barely touched our savings because we were so great at saving during the engagement. So now it’s time to redecorate!!!!
Problem is… I don’t have a knack for it and I don’t think Darling Husband does either. We both don’t want to hire an interior designer because of the cost. So I have to rely on inspiration.
I won’t post pictures to protect our privacy… but our kitchen opens up into the family room.
This is our furniture (the pic with the pillows). There is an accent wall in a dark brown, that almost has a green tinge to it, and the other wall is a beige, a bit darker than the couches. The kitchen’s walls are painted red (like the red in the pillows).
I don’t care for it. I want to repaint the kitchen, but have the living room still look nice. The cabinets in the kitchen are white, appliances stainless steel and black.
Where do I start? How do I figure out where to start and what colours would look nice? We need to keep the couches because they’re brand new. Although, new pillows wouldn’t be TOTALLY out of the question, I suppose.
