Is the suit something that your FH will wear after the wedding? In that case it may be worth buying one. A good quality suit, properly cared for, will last for years.

Buy, buy, buy!  Does your Fiance really want to wear a rented suit on his wedding day?  You can get really good deals at Macy’s or Nordstrom Rack if you have on in your city.  Both our dad’s bought new suits at Men’s Warehouse for our wedding.  There should be a Nordstrom Men’s Sale at some point before next May too.  You can get a $1000 suit for like $600 bucks then.

My Fiance and his friends prefer to buy suits. They’re useful for interviews/formal events. We’re probably going to Brooks Brothers.

Our groomsmen and Fiance are renting. I think they look fine and they dont really need suites for anything else so renting was the best option for them.

We are having the guys rent – it was their option though.  They all have been in 50000 weddings in which they all had to purchase suits – and none of them work jobs in which they need to dress up.  So that being said, they each thought renting was a better option for them.

Mens Warehouse has a special on some suits – Buy 1, get the 2nd for only $100

Macy’s all the way! They have the most incredible sales in the men’s section. We gave our groomsmen the option of us renting a suit for them or giving them a certain amount of money toward the purchase of a suit. They all found such awesome deals at Macy’s that they all bought suits. I think they ended up costing an average of $160 each for suits that were $400 – $500. Really great quality, too.

We went to Macy’s first but they weren’t very knowledgeable/helpful and my guy didn’t fit into anything off-the-rack (needed advice and help with alterations that wasn’t forthcoming).

Next he went to Men’s Wearhouse (on his own) and bought two great-looking suits on the buy-one-get-one deal. They were tailored to fit him perfectly and he looked so handsome. He spent more than I did on my gown, but I assured him that these are classic suits that he’ll wear for years to come, while my gown is pretty much useless now.
