I use RTR and love them. I have always been pleased the selection of dresses, the service, and the ability to order an extra size as a back up. Has anyone used RTR for their bridesmaid dresses? It would be so easy for me to pick a dress (or several) from the website, give my bridesmaids RTR gift cards, and let them rent the appropriate size(s) for the big day.
I’m on the short side and a little flat chested, but I usually have no problem getting an appropriate size from RTR. My only concern is that my maids are all different (tall, short, curvy, etc.). If we go the rental route, we won’t have the ability to make any major alterations to dresses. I really do think it would be okay, but I wanted to see if anyone else had experience with this. Did your maids love not having to buy a dress or were they aggravated that they couldn’t make any alterations?
Of course I want my maids to be comfortable, but at the end of the day, if a bridesmaid dress is a little tight or a little loose, I don’t think it’s the end of the world…especially since they won’t be stuck with the dresses for eternity!

I’m very petite and just rented a dress for a wedding with RTR. I usually have to get all my bridesmaids dresses altered (taking it in and hem). But that’s because bridesmaids dresses are ordered to your biggest measurement (for me, the chest) and then everything else is altered to fit. Honestly they are made not to fit so it costs $$ to alter (more money for the bridal shops). But if I buy a dress of the rack, I almost never need to get it altered. that’s because a size 0 dress at a dept store is actually a size 0. It is made to fit my waist, my chest and for someone my height. The RTR dresses wouldnt need to be altered. And honestly, if you have 2 sizes to choose from you should be ok. when I rented a dress all they had was a 0 and a 4. Normally I would picked 2 as my backup size but they were out of stock. the 0 was tight but the 4 was falling off so I made due with the 0. Its only for a few hours so your girls should be fine even if it doesn’t fit perfectly.

Krises: That’s pretty much my thoughts. With several girls EACH getting two sizes, we should have plenty of options to choose from!

Definitely wondering how this worked out…I’d love to see the dresses you chose too! 🙂
