My own personal opinion…for a $30 difference, it may not be worth it. I only say this because I would be worrying about who would set it up, would it stay up if it’s really windy, does it have the right support structure, who would take it down, who would clean it for resale, etc.? It might be worth the peace of mind knowing that all those details are taken care of by the vendor!!

Really?? They aren’t including set-up in the rental or is it at an additonal fee? That seems completely absurd to me! Are there any alternative vendors in your area that would have a more reasonable package deal?

Oh jeez, I have been having the same tents screaming at me when I log into Amazon too!  The difference between the this pop up tent and the others is that the rentals are staked down and (I think) the actual tent material is a canvas instead of plastic like the one on Amazon. And they’re insured when they’re putting up the tent, unlike your friends.

Have you thought about calling the manufacturer and asking the difference between the two products?

A $150 rental is not a bad price in our area and yes, some companies do charge a “set up fee” because that is their way of roping set-up, delivery, and staff time all in one.  They may call it whatever they want, but I would not waste my time putting up a tent of that size.  Those guys are professional and will have it secure for any type of weather in half the amount of time it would take your family and friends.  So if you’re worried about rain or wind just let them do it.

If money is really an issue, then perhaps you should buy it and hope you can resale it afterwards.
