I’m looking for some insight. I live in Maryland and I’m looking at renting tables, linens, and chairs for my wedding but most of the retal places I’ve looked at only deliver to just inside the door.
Do you need a caterer in order to have people set these things up? We’re working on a budget so we were going to have a restaurant cater our wedding, so there isn’t a full service option. But I don’t have the time to be worrying about setup in an 8hr venue block.

We’re using Eastern Shore Tents and Events (estentsandevents.com) for the rentals for our wedding in Maryland. They will set-up and breakdown for an additional fee.

kaycost: Is the fee reasonable or ridiculous? I’ve heard mixed reviews on fees for delivery and been told to get my fees in writing.

swingmearound: I don’t know. We are using them through our caterer who is organizing everything. We are also getting a tent through them, so I’m sure that’s a little different. They’ll write you up a contract though, so the fees would be in writing.

They’ll usually set up for an extra fee, usually like $0.25 per chair or it might be a flat percentage depending on how much you have. The rental companies I’ve worked with in the past were great as long as they had a layout to go by.
