I had to add on a personal articles policy to my renters insurance.  It costs about $30/year for $3k of coverage.

I have Jeweler’s Mutual. $9300 appraisal covered with no deductible at $98/year. If you want a lower premium, you can opt for a $100 deductible. Very easy to work with, and you can just download a picture of the detailed receipt or appraisal for coverage.

I am also with Jeweler’s Mutual. Although I haven’t made a claim I did have to call them to clarify one of the rings on my policy. They were super easy to deal with. Take a look on their website to sign up.

I used Gemshield. Got it appraised at a local jewelers first. My ring is about $4000 and I put $1400 earrings on it as well, and pay $63 a year.

Another vote for jewelers mutual here!

My engagement ring appraised for $4200, and my cost of insurance was like $50 or less per year. I’ll also be covering my wedding band when I get around to adding to my policy. I’m not sure yet, what that will cost. Coverage is awesome, and my ring is covered for damage, left, and loss.

You can use the receipt from purchase to get it initially covered, but it is always better to get an independant appraisal from a certified jeweler.
