My place doesn’t have any restrictions or rules on weddings so I’m getting free reign.

-I’m cutting costs by having my rehearsal dinner on property catered/delivered by a upscale pizza joint. Think gourmet pizza, stuffed breads, appetizers, salads. Cheap, delicious, easy.

-Instead of a band, this house has a ipod sound system throughout so I’m making a ton of playlists to say money.

-Since we aren’t having a band as entertainment, I’m setting up a cigar & scotch bar, having a photo booth (DIY Ipad), and hiring a cariacture artist to come and draw all the guests. I still wanted it to be fun so I’m adding more activities to make up for the lack of live entertainment. Our place also has a outside 50″ TV so we could do karaoke or rock band too.. but I’m undecided on that just yet.

-We will be there from a Thursday-Monday but all our guests arrive Friday. So, I plan to get there and set up all the rooms with welcome baskets that include mini liquor bottles (of that persons favorite drink), snacks, water,etc.. I’m also making a program to go in the basket that will have pictures of everyone with little funny stories/introductions. I figure it will be a good icebreaker for those who don’t know each other.

-I’m having a caterer come in for two days (my splurge). She’ll set up mimosa & bloody mary bars each day, provide snacks/lunch, and then cater the reception. We all enjoy our cocktails and I want this to be relaxing, fun, and stress free.

Those are my tips so far. We are saving so much money this way and really spoiling our close loved ones. I couldn’t imagine it any other way. ๐Ÿ™‚
