I would consider renting a wedding dress to save money if it was fashionable, clean and fit well. : (72 votes)

Buying a used dress would be better than renting because then you could still alter it/resell it. : (31 votes)

I would rather purchase a new, unused dress and find a good deal. : (24 votes)

If I thought it was the only way to afford the kind of dress I wanted, and if I was certain that it would fit me well (I’m an odd shape, so my own dress needed some pretty big alterations), I’d be up for it.  Otherwise, I’d look elsewhere.

Absolutely!  You only wear it once, then MAYBE you can sell it afterwards.  With renting… less money, less headache!

I love the idea. If you can find something you like that fits you well, go for it!

Abso-freaking-lutely! Sign me up. I dont have any desire to keep my dress as heirloom nor do want to be involved with selling it after the fact.

If I knew what I knew now, YES! In a heart beat! Of course it would take the right dress, but save yourself the money!

I looked into renting but the contract was way to scary for me. You can buy a sample gown for 99$ and be way better off.

I would consider it if there were a specific dress I wanted and couldn’t afford, but I would prefer to buy a used/cheap dress so I could alter it and keep it.

Sure why not!  But only if I couldn’t find one used for a good price.

I would love to. But I doubt you’d be able to alter it so it would have to fit just right.

I have a lot of formal evening gowns and I rent them out to people all the time.

If I could go back and do it again, I would definitely have looked into renting a dress!  I didn’t have that tight of a budget but I couldn’t justify spending more than $600 – $700 on a dress for one day.  There are so many other beautiful dresses I would have loved, but not for the multi-thousand dollar price tag.   If I had the option of renting one of those dresses, I would have done it in a heart beat!

I spoke to a rental place a few months ago and they said they would have no problem buying the dress I wanted to wear and then renting it to me. They couldn’t get every dress but a lot of the common ones they could order in. I would have went with that if I didn’t find the dress I wanted at a consignment store.

I would do it! Men have been renting tuxs forever! A local day spa actually had bridal gowns for rent with their packages…though the dresses are not at all my style.. I always thought it was a cool idea!

If I could find the dress i loved, I would. Its really not any different than buying a used dress and selling it.

I would definitely consider it if alterations would be possible.

Then again I’d probably just hit up the $99 David’s sale too.
