tania689:  oh wow that really is great!

mikcosh:  certainly ask them. It was the only bit in your plans I think they’d need ‘talking through’. Not wishing to patronise but I found clarifying everything the most effective way. I went with the shop. The communication has been great but they made my dress from another material even though matte satin was in all the emails and order form. And I’d paid for the fabric upgrade. So they had to start it again. No extra cost but a time delay. I’m anxiously awaiting next mis production pics.

bebe2z:  with the shop I was generous. I think too much as mid production photos of the old dress (in the wrong material) looked huge around the middle. I know I don’t have that bust/waist ratio. I took the stance though that my local dressmaker can always take it in. Harder to take out. It’s plain though. I think with beading/lace adjustments can be more complicated.

Zelda1: I’m not a replica dress bride but I just wanted to compliment your style, bee, and say how amazing your dresses turned out. Jesus!!! That heavily beaded one is just the absolute business! (The one that was originally 2 sizes too big with the big swirled beading…) If I had the guts, I’d be ordering one rigt now…well,it’s too late but you know what I mean! 😉 and I also loved the front view of the one with the bow. Soooo pretty.

Good luck to all the other bees, it seems like when it does come off, it really does come off amazingly!

tania689, UK-bee: thanks for the info.  I think i might do a buffer space of 0.5-1inch for certain areas.

Zelda1:  i persaonlly am going through this process because the dress i am dreaming of is 15k! i dont have that kind of money…

i am still going to bridal salons but havent found a dress i like enough to wear that isnt going to break the bank and look stunning as well..

Here’s  the dress im having made…

i havent ordered it yet since i am not done “shopping around…but i have a quote from the shop and most likly will go that route… unless i somehow find a unique yet afforadable dress that makes me feel beautiful..

i am terrified but honestly @ $400 qupte i received even if the dress sucks, i can go and throw out my dream and find a cheap dress or go to davids bridal and just “settle” i hope i wont have too but eh..im taking a risk..

Hello Bees,

I want to order a dress through one of the shops, I don’t know which one to go with,

I am plus size, I want a ball gown, tulle skirt, full length sleeves and lots of sparkles. I want the dress to have proper structure I.e it holds its self up on the hanger etc.

If anyone knows which shop I should contact? Or have had anything similar made from one of the shops

Thanks in advance

jess2017:  if you have a photo of what you’d like it to look like it’ll be easier to help. Visuals always work. The Shop is really good but so is shop 2.0 for tulle, organza, some lace some beading.

Hi ladies,

I want to have the below dress made and I’m wondering if I should go with The Shop or Shop 2.0? It doesn’t have a ton of beadwork and there’s no lace so the focus really is on the fabric and I want to find the best shop for that. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Also, do you think my instructions are clear enough in the photo?dress
