I got my dress from Shades of Pale http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Shades-of-Pale-Bridal-The-Little-Velvet-Box/196879553692866

Its silk with lace. I also got another dress form there which was satin. Neither had a smell. Mine has bones and cups and a bra like strap to help hold in place.

If your’s has a smell then try letting it air out a little maybe people are talkingt about that “packed smell” or maybe it comes from the packagng and not the dress itself. But I have heard that some of the dresses from there really smell terrible.

My friend had a mostly-tulle and satin replica dress and it didn’t smell like anything.

hello – I ordered 2 dresses.  One was all satin and had no smell and one was mostly stain and english netting with no smell.  I am not sure what smell you are refering to though?  Of course, they are gonna smell kinda like plasticy when you first take them out of a dhl package they have been stuffed into with a little bit of factory musk, but when you air them out, there shouldn’t be anything lingering.  I did order shoes from china and they kinda smelled like gasoline.  I think it is from adhesives.

I ordered a dress from Dressilyme and it didn’t smell. My dress is made of satin and lace. It has boning and a built in bra.

Hmm, never heard of an odd smell.

My dress was from babyonline from DHGate. It was taffetta, had built in boning, bra cups, bra elastic to keep up the strapless, and no odor.

My dress smelled horrible!!! I ordered from Aprils Bridal ( Jeff Liu) and the whole dress was a catastrophe. But i read nothing but good reviews about Dressilyme, so i think you should be fine

@Mrs. Myrtle Beach: I remember that post too! She was totally freaking out…then posted a few days later saying that she had aired it out and it was fine now and that she was probably overreacting before. I wouldn’t worry about it!

Hello, I bought two dresses from China recently. I got one on ebay, and the other from ioffer.com.  The white one from Ebay had no smell whatsoever, and the actual wedding dress I got did have a sort of weird smell (like fishy).  I dont know if it is because it is shipped with something of a fishy scent or what.  I ordered both dresses at seperate times, and they both came in mailing bags. What I did with the wedding dress is purchashed a breathable garmet wedding bag from ebay for $13 and put a car freshner in the bag. It smells perfectly fine now, and it has been about a week. Hope this helps! i think it is really hit or miss!
