So I found a couple photos froom my parent’s wedding day, and there is this one of them by their wedding cake. I was thinking about maybe replicating the cake design for our wedding cake.
It is a pretty sterotypical 80’s wedding cake with columns and all. I don’t have a picture of it to post on here, but this will give you the basic idea:

My parents had pink frosting roses around the top of each tier.
Before I thought of this my fiance and I were planning something like this minus the botton tier and nothing on the very top:

What do you guys think?

@peabee: I think it’s a sweet idea! Could you merge the ideas together? Like go for the 80s cake, but have the layers be decorated like your inspiration photo?

I also think it’s a sweet idea, but I would take their design and stack the cake without the columns. To me, that’s what makes the cake feel like it’s an 80’s cake.

Their’s isn’t too bad, it’s a cute idea. My parents had a huge spread out cake with a damn fountain in it. It was from the local grocery store and had to be taken apart lest it collapse in the heat before the end of the reception. So my parents’ cake? No. I don’t think his parents had a cake when they got married in Taiwan. So I felt free to pick my own delicious structurally stable dessert.
