I posted yesterday but I guess it was too long I received one reply and it was very helpful–she referred me to Mrs. Lemon’s prior post… Thank you! I would like to see if anyone else had ideas or pictures I can look for brown/cream theme wedding reception in May..I thought about buying glass rectangular vases and putting ribbon around them a la Jean M with mirrors…I found some awesome candles from Michaels (tricolor: brown, vanilla, named cinnamon bun) but it looks like it needs a little love…I would like simple yet elegant ~Please help!

Cream coloured roses may be nice as well, or even cream coloured rose petals scattered on the tables. I love the colours you picked. Also maybe you can incorporate your wedding favors into the decor somehow, so they serve as decoration, but can be taken home at the end of the night.

they sound really cute, but i would actually caution against candles that smell on the tables (some people have said that it messes with the taste of the food — i heard this on top chef). maybe put them on the tables for like the guest book or something?
i’m not sure if you want to go the flower route, but chocolate cosmos are beautful!

I second the non-smelly candles, look like I’m not the only Top Chef fan!
Without seeing a picture, it’s hard to visualize … maybe some green ivy or pretty rocks/pebbles sourrounding the base of the vase, but still on the mirror? You could aslo scatter flower petals on the mirror if you’re trying to cut costs or go easy on the flowers.

Curly willow branches in a vase if your room has some height. It will help balance high ceiling and adds drama to your pieces. Dried, they have nice brown color. You could also hang/tie ribbons, flowers, jewels, votives from the branches to fill it out.
I’ve also seen coffee beans used in centerpieces as a filler. That would go nicely with your scheme.
