@SgrPlum12:  The problem with Whiteflash in her case is that their cheapest settings are $350 where James Allen sells their cheapest setting for $180. If her budget is $1500, spending twice as much on a simple solitaire setting takes money away from the center stone.

OP, they have a 0.51 carat J VS2 A Cut Above diamond (the best cut they make) for $1290 if you click over from Pricescope (they have a Pricescope discount), but you’d still be over your budget with their cheapest setting.

@cmbr:  True, but Whiteflash does not charge any tax outside of Texas. My boyfriend saved A LOT of money by not having to pay the tax.  I don’t know about James Allen, but might she have to pay tax with them?

@ChellFish22:  The Fire is the ideal cut, most sparkly diamond that they carry and will have the better specs and it only comes in the round cut. The Grand is cut to make the diamond look larger than it is but the clarity and color can be so-so, But it can come in other cuts other than a round. The 102 has more facets and sparkles totally different (which I love in my princess cut) and the specs are better than the Grand, sometimes equal to the Fire and can come in different shapes.

Basically, the Fire is the most expensive per ct, then the 102, and the Grand is the cheapest of the 3.

@SgrPlum12:  James Allen only collects sales tax on orders shipped to Maryland or New York.

@ChellFish22:  This was taken right after I got it and before I had it set in my new setting (Light was not even shining right on it and it glows!) lol

Edited: oops, wrong pic

I would echo Mrs TTR’s experience on People’s, but I ended up getting mine from Paris Jewellers. (Canadian chain, but they also have an online store)

$1500 should get you lots with colours G/H diamonds. My e-ring was a stock ring. They come with a life-time warranty (bonus is that you can upgrade without paying too much later on), but you’d need to get your diamonds checked & polished every 6 months.

@ChellFish22:  Thank you!! That new setting (Not sure which pic you saw) did not come from Zales. I got it at a local shop. But the diamond is the same :).
