I am not a gemologist so I can’t help there but I will say this about Blue Nile..you can request that they have this particular diamond checked before it’s shipped to you. They will look at it’s clarity to make sure it’s completely eye clean and they can tell you if it faces up white or has more warmth. It’s worth the call just speak to a diamond expert which is usually anyone that picks up from their customer service team.

They usually get back to you with this info within 24-48 hours depending on where the diamond actually is.

Also since I have a pear and it’s a J plus I’ve looked at tons of ovals and pears in these color grades the oval WILL show some color, especially because it’s a bigger oval.

lmyeag :  In most lighting conditions it faces up white more like an H but there are some cases where it looks warmer like in our car.

I think you will LOVE your oval. I looked at the video and it’s stunning. Fingers crossed for eye clean, highly likely that’s it’s perfect

Not an oval, but I have a 2.2 ct, I, SI2 cusion.

For the sake of transparency, I stare at my diamond often and if i stare at it long enough or close enough, I can see some of the inclusions and I occasionally see warmth depending on lighting and how clean it is.

This isn’t something that bothers me though and I absolutely LOVE my diamond.

I think that stone is beautiful and I believe you will be very happy with it.

This is my 2 carat I color SI2. The top picture is how it usually looks (pretty white) and the bottom is as warm as it ever looks (and I think it was reflecting a little off my clothes in the bottom picture). I absolutely cannot see the inclusions without magnification. And the Proprortions are good so it’s very sparkly, which is what most people notice anyway 🙂

It’s a size 5.5, though I prefer my rings slightly loose and I now wear it with an eternity band so my finger is likely closer to a 5.25 🙂

I think you picked a nice stone with a very minimal bowtie. But I would like to make a few suggestions, or if you need more help go to Pricescope

This is a J color but very nice with no bowtie, larger, cleaner, and less $

While I know this one is sold, I would reach out and see if they have any that are getting cut in the specs that you want. There will be no bowtie and even an SI2 will look clean, I have a friends that I have seen in person that is amazing. Only down side is they tend to face up a little small for carat weight due to the cutting process to eliminate the bowtie

Just got my j and it faces up nothing but white. I have yet to be in a situation where I see warmth.

lmyeag :  I was really nervous but the jeweler kept insisting I will be happy and I am! The excellent cut also helps to mask color and J’s have the biggest range in color out of all the color grades…who knew!!
