I was going to rent a gown but I am not sure that I will be able to go that route so I am going to resell my gown following the wedding. How does one determine the price of the resale? What’s considered reasonable based on the purchase price?

I think it depends on your dress, how popular and the condition of it.
Oncewed has some tips on pricing:
* Deciding on a price really depends on you and the dress. Big designer name gowns will usually fetch more than lesser known gowns due to the retail price and popularity in the press.* Most brides price their used wedding dress 25%-50% off the retail price.* If your not receiving many inquiries for your gown, try lowering the price or offering a best offer option.“
I purchased my dress with full intention of selling it after the wedding. I currently have it listed and it’s been under a month. I think the key is just to be patient. I’m in no rush so I’m just going to let the listing ride out. 🙂
I have it listed here and on OnceWed. If in 5-6 months it’s still not sold I’ll probably pay to list it on PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com
