@dsurdam123:  I’m In somewhat of a similar situation. I have my great grandmothers wedding band that I want to use. it’s from the 30’s and ahe wore it all the time so it’s very worn. I took it to about 6 different jewelers, most of who told me it wasnt worth replacing or wearing. the other two places told me it is fixable But that I would need to melt it down and have to have it remade (it’s a platinum eternity band). one place quoted me $3700 and the other $1700. I’m torn bc I feel like it isn’t her ring if it’s melted down and remade even if it is with her diamonds and the original platinum. on the other side… It’s way too big on me and I cannot get it sizes bc the ring has worn so thin 🙁 I don’t have 2k right now unfortunately and decided that I want to wear the original ring for the wedding, and then when I have the money I will pay to have it redone so that I can wear it all of the time as my wedding band.

@bnamrs4evr: I’m a Mom, as well and I agree with every single word!

No matter what form your ring takes, it will always be something to honor your Mom.

Best Wishes!
