Fiancé and I picked out a gorgeous ring but I’ve come to realise it’s just not me. I thought I wanted a six prong solitaire but it’s just too typical for my style. Is it possible to have it reset into a bezel setting with a thin band? I mean I already have the diamond and the metal so couldn’t they just melt it down and reset it in the new setting?

Tlhopper: Technically, yes they should be able to do that. I’d ask around and get some quotes and see which option works best for you. It might cost more to pick out a bezel setting or it might cost more to melt down your metal and make one. It all depends on the labor involved, which I suspect might come out the same. Try pricescope and see what the jewelers say on there! 🙂

peacock0320: I worked with an awesome etsy jeweler to make my bezel. It’s a .17 ct diamond (that I provided) set in .9 platinum. I think the band is 1.3 or 1.5mm
She came in at 1/3 the price of every other jeweler I talked to. Here’s the ring:

Tlhopper: here’s the thread and recap of all the bees that helped & the jeweler’s contact. Erin is super nice, great communication and all that. Give her 24-48 hours to respond though, because she is super busy and responds to everyone herself.
I tried not to email her a lot because if she’s responding to me, she’s not making my ring 😉
Help: Tiffany Bezet or James Allen / Blue Nile Bezel Solitaire?
