@allyfally:  Some rings can not be sized for many reasons.

I’m not a jeweler but these are some reasons I can think of off the top of my head (Bees correct me if I’m wrong)

1. If there are sidestones and the ring needs to be sized up or down more than 2 sizes it can warp the shape of the ring and cause them to fall.

2. I’ve heard comfort fit bands can’t be sized much because they are too thick and won’t maintain their shape well.

3. Rings that have quad set stones are especially prone to diamonds falling when sizing at all because they are tension set and any wrong move can make them all fall out.

4. Rings in some materials like Tungsten and Titanium can’t be sized because the metal is so hard and it needs a very high melting temperature in order to do so.

5. Rings that have a design going all the way around the band usually can’t be sized because it will interupt the design.

6. Diamond eternity rings are not able to be re-sized because they are almost like custom made ring made in a specific size so re-sizing can warp the ring or cause stones to fall out.

Hope this helps! That ring you are wanting is pretty and if you want to be sure just ask the seller what size you need and if it can be sized safely. This way if you get the ring and take it to a jeweler and they say it can’t be done (which I doubt by the look and design of the ring but you never know) they will have to give you your money back!

everything justlove just said, plus I believe anything plated in 2 differetnt metals is a no-go.  eg: gold plated silver, rhodium plated silver, silver/gold plated brass or nickel etc…

@allyfally:  I hope they say yes! What did the silver one you ask to get sized look like?

@allyfally:  Maybe it was the way the stones were set. Sometimes jewelers know what type of rings are a No No to size. I had a sterling ring once that I sized down and I kept losing the stones and it got ruined! The jeweler never told me it was a bad idea so I lost money! Better to know and not have to go through all that trouble.

So exciting!
