- Wedding: April 2013
We have FI’s grandmother’s wedding set from the late 20s/early 30s and are planning to use both the band and engagement ring for me. The engagement ring was easy to resize, but the wedding band is a little more complicated because it is a channel set eternity band. One jeweler told us it might be possible to size the ring smaller by removing stones, and another who specializes in vintage jewelery told us the best solution is to place a band of metal on the inside of the ring and quoted $550 to do this.
I’ve seen some posts about sizing eternity bands up, but not a lot on sizing them down. I think the ring is about a 5 or a 6 and I am a 4, so I’m worried about how this will feel (and that we could get a new band for as much or less than their quote). Does anybody wear a ring like this, do you like it?
