dmw416 :  It all depends on the design of the ring, if there’s pave etc. I’m not an expert by any means, but I’d think sizing down would be riskier than going up, because it would spread the prongs apart further if there’s pave on the shank. I hope that makes sense. It’s hard to explain in my weird brain. LOL

Do you have pics you can post? I would find a VERY reputable jeweler if you want to do it locally, but ultimately I’d feel the most comfortable sending it to Schubachs. That way if a stone does end up falling out or if you have issues down the road, it won’t void the warranty. A lot of jewelers won’t fix their pieces once another jeweler touches it.

dmw416 :  That’s so stunning and classic! Since there’s no pave, I wouldn’t be as hesitant to have it sized locally. I’d still contact Schubachs to make sure any warranty they provide won’t be voided. Better to ask now instead of after the fact should a problem arise.

There’s no reason a jeweler couldn’t treat it just like a diamond.
