I am freaking out! We decided to have our wedding in August at a ski resort in PA. The only guest who live in PA are my Future Mother-In-Law, Future Father-In-Law, and FI’s grandmother. We did this so his grandmother could attend.
On Wednesday My Future Mother-In-Law & Future Father-In-Law went to the resort to make arrangements for the rehersal dinner. While there, they decided to book there room along with a couple of others for family members. When they asked for a room with our wedding party the person helping them couldn’t find anything. Apparently there’s no block under our wedding AND there’s a convention that weekend and everything is booked. ALL of our guest are coming from out of state! There’s only a couple of other hotels near the resort, I have no idea if rooms will be available, given the convention. I also have no idea if the hotels are nice or not.
For some reason, his parents didn’t think this was that big of a deal and didn’t mention anything until TONIGHT when my Fiance called (he usually chats with them Sunday evenings. We immediately got on the computer and tried to book rooms. Our wedding is on a Sunday and currently there are NO rooms available for Friday and only 13 rooms available for Saturday and Sunday. We called the resort, but it was already after 9 and none of the people we needed to speak with were there.
We’re calling in the morning, but WHAT DO WE DO? At this point, if our block really is gone, we think we’ll move the wedding to where we live, push the date back and demand our deposit back., but that means his grandmother wont be able to attend. Do we have any recourse? I feel like screaming!
