we considered Excellence and Majestic Elegance…but then switched islands completely.  Our TA, Jennifer at VIP Vacations, found us a great deal on a Sandals so we changed our minds.  I think those 2 are the only ones that are adults only in the DR though!

My fiance and I stayed at the Majestic Elegance last summer just for a getaway vacation. It’s an amazing hotel and would be great for a honeymoon. I’d book early and spend the extra money for a swim up suite. Our room was huge and and had an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi. We also stayed in the adults only section, although there weren’t many kids at the resort.  Hope this helps!

My fiance proposed when we went to the Dominican.  If you are looking for all inclusive I would recommend the Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro.  Great reviews on trip advisor and we had an absolutely wonderful time there.  The resort is brand new and it’s stunning.  It wasn’t crowded either so we never had to fight for a spot on the beach or the cabanas at the pool.

The staff is wonderful as well. Everyone is so nice and friendly.  My fiance dropped my ring in the sand in the middle of the proposal and the head butler Drago was so very helpful.  He was out there for over an hour looking in the sand with us and also put us in touch with someone who had a metal detector.  We ended up finding it the next morning!  What a relief.

The room was great.  A bottle of champagne with a full jacuzzi bath and rose petals waiting for us each night after dinner.  No kids.  Great swim up bar.  Fully stocked mini-bar every day.  Robes, slippers, turn-down service, pillow menu, and room service.  Can’t say enough about this place.  Only complaint would be that the food isn’t the best, but my fiance and I are sort of foodies I guess so perhaps we were being too picky.

If you want to see pictures or anything message me and I can send them to you.  Tripadvisor ha great pics as well. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g147293-d1233228-Reviews-Iberostar_Grand_Bavaro_Hotel-Punta_Cana_Dominican_Republic.html

We booked at the Excellence! Check out reviews on TripAdvisor and several friends/past brides have raved about the 5 star/all-inclusive/adults-only resort!
