I have one co-worker that works the shift after me. It’s only three of us. The third co-worker works every other weekend. We have a small fridge to keep our drinks and lunch. I had a full Gatorade bottle in there. We have no water here, it’s bring your own drinks. This morning it’s gone! Ugh! Empty bottle in the trash. I even said to myself this morning, “I have a full Gatorade, I don’t need to take any.” I think it’s so rude to take other people’s food and drinks that’s in a employee fridge. Now I have nothing to drink, I work with dogs, groom and its hot. So annoyed! Even worse because I hate this co-worker. Just the thought of me buying this drink for myself and he drinks it!
Ok, mini vent over. Lol

@Silly_love: People do that where I work too. It is very annoying and leads me to wonder if they were raised in a barn.

I hear you. We have a huge vending area and you can’t even put a can of pop in the fridge or it will be gone the next day. One day I left a frozen pot pie in the freezer and was going to eat it the next day. I came in all hungry and looking forward to it… and it was gone. WTF? Usually if I write my name all over it stuff will stay for a day, but that’s it.

Post a note that says, “My estrogen-laced Gatorade went missing. I need to know who took it so I can make sure the estrogren isn’t negatively effecting him/her.”

@Silly_love: Seriously, buy a bottle of magnesium citrate and mix the whole bottle into your gatorade bottle (poor out some gatorade to make room, first) It’s not poisoniing if you aren’t encouraging someone else to take it, right? Maybe you just needed some constipation relief and you were secretly starting the treatment at work to take care of your body when you got home, right?

people are morons. put your name on things. put them in a lunch bag. buy a cooler bag and keep it in your car.
my FI had his entire lunch, as well as a full bottle of tums and i think a headset thrown in the trash by a coworker. they saw the plastic grocery bag he’d used to pack his lunch, and just tossed it in the trash. i was pissed. he’s diabetic and on medication. normally, his medication is in with his lunch. thankfully, he’d moved it to his backpack that day. if they’d thrown away his medication, i would have screamed at his manager and made the coworker go into the dumpster to find the prescription bottle.

@Silly_love: Im so lucky with this. First off, I a mini fridge that only my boss and I use now so it has eliminated most of our issues. But for a while we had one fridge for the entire department. Which is a lot of people! So you had to fight even to get room in there. It was so bad that people would get here a little earlier just to get a. a good parking spot lol and b. a good spot in the fridge. If something stayed in that fridge overnight, it would disappear by either getting eaten or tossed out because it was in the way. People have no manners. I would never just eat someone’s stuff.

It has always amazed me how people behave in the workplace.

that’s really annoying! I’d start labeling it with your name on it to see if that helps. If you know who the culprit is, I’d confront them directly.

@Silly_love: …wow…that’s weird. Then again, everyone around here is like family…so I’ve been standing in the hall, talking to my brother about a client and had one of my other co-workers walk up to me, take a drink from my soda and hand it back…so yeah, we got us a really odd dynamic here.

That is so crazy to me! No one where I worked would ever think of doing something like that!

Aw man that sucks 🙁 I just don’t get how people do this!!!! Like, did you buy it? No? Then why would you just eat it like it’s yours? How can they not think about someone coming in later expecting food/drink and having it be gone? It’s one thing if it is an honest mistake but its another when its just rude.
Fortunately I have not had to encounter this because I believe it would be one of those pet peeves that I would not be able to let go so easily lol. I would 100% leave a nasty note in the fridge!!!

I hate it when people do that! Seriously, did they grow up in a cave why would you touch & eat other people’s food/drink?!
I always put my food in a plastic bag, tie it up, and I place scotch tape on the knot and post a huge note on it with my name written everywhere. With drinks, I also tape the lid and write my name over it so that people would have to rip through my name in order to open the drink. So far, it’s worked great for me.

@MrsWBS: He’s the only one that works after me. There’s only one person per shift and there’s three of us. It happened yesterday, so it was him. The other person works on weekends. So it’s only obvious. Lol. I’ll be embarrass to take someone’s food or drink.
