I asked for people to RSVP 3 weeks beforehand. I need the number of guests 2 weeks before for the caterer, so this gives me extra time for those procrastinators. 🙂

Our response date is 3 weeks before the wedding (we are only sending out 19 invitations, so I shouldn’t have many to track down). If you have a “b list” of guests, you should choose an earlier response date so that you can strart sending invites to your “b list”. Also, if you have a larger wedding where you may need to track down a lot of non-responders, an earlier date would be helpful.

I am setting our RSVP date at August 31 for our Oct 8 wedding. It may be a little on the early side, but we have about 75 or so invites going out, and need to give some counts to vendors 2-3 weeks beforehand, so I wanted enough time to track people down and not have it be extremely stressful. I am also planning form Dallas for a MN wedding, so will be heading up earlier in the week before the wedding, and want plenty of time to get the escort cards, seating chart, etc, finished. And Im going to be back in MN one weekend for my shower/bachelorette, so I am losing one weekend to work on that stuff. Oh, and we are planning to send our invites out at the end of July.

3 weeks sounds good for the OP. We’re going a month, but that’s because we’re having a very large wedding. And we also have to have our final count 2 weeks before the wedding for both the linen people and the caterers.

Mine are going out the last week of august for a return of Oct. 1. that gives me 2 weeks to track down the straglers and have time to get everything in order before I need to turn in my count for our 10/29 wedding.
