My fiance and I are getting married May 21, 2011- and we need some advice on the invitation wording for the response cards. Here is the issue:
– We have adult entree choices & children entree choices
– Adults- 2 choices
– Children- 4 choices
How do we get these all on the small response card with which family member orders what meal? Also, we do not want a 10 year old child ordering an adult meal due to cost. How do we make sure that we are sure of what each family member ordered? We also do not want all the children, for example ages 12-14, to get an adult meal (since they are HUGE servings and expensive)- how can we ensure this does not happen?
– How do we ensure that additional guests are not added?
Thanks for your help,

I would put some kind of check boxes with the names of the dishes next to blanks for the names. Also, putting an age on the kid’s meal will probably help so people don’t order the adult sizes. I wish I had a picture to show what I’m thinking about!

@tksjewelry: Well done!
Though it is pretty lengthy, but I guess if it does the job!

Hmm…thank you for the ideas.
We have to submit a seating chart. Here is what I was thinking but we were worried about having to customize each of the response cards:
We have reserved __ seats for you.
# attending: ___
# regrets: ___
Adult Meal Selections: Crab Cakes, or New York Strip
Name 1: ________________
Name 2: ________________
Child Meal Selections: Chicken Tenders, Hamburger, Grilled Cheese, Cheesesburger
Child 1: ________________
Child 2: ________________
I guess since we are printing our own it wouldn’t be too hard, just time consuming. Any other suggestions & ideas are welcome. These response cards aren’t too big and I don’t want to make it too confusing.

Instead of “Name 1” and “Child 1” etc, I would put “Name(s) and food selections(s)” so that people also know to include their food choice instead of just writing a name
