Okay, I need to vent. First a little background…I am on weight watchers for a plethora of reasons. The main reason being that I’m a type II diabetic who needs to lose weight for my health. I’m doing pretty well so far. One of my friends asked if I’d like to go to lunch at the Olive Garden today since we haven’t seen each other in forever. I went online to look at their menu to find something I could eat that fits in my diet and since restaurant portions are WAY out of control, I wanted to order something off the kids menu so I got the proper portion. And no, I do not want to simply split my meal in half and take some home with me because I don’t want to feel like I “have to” eat it later so I’m not wasting food or money. When we cook at home my Fiance and make exactly two servings of food with everything we make, one for him and one for me…to me, leftovers are dangerous.
So I call ahead of time and to make sure this is acceptable and I feel like I’m asking them to prove the existence of god or something. All I want to do is order something they make exactly how it is. I’m not asking them me something different or special…I just want less of it. All I want is a lunch around 500 calories, low fat and not so many carbs my blood sugar spikes immensely. What do I have to do, take measuring cups in my purse and measure out the right amount of food and send the rest of it back immediately for them to throw away?
