77Wentworth is fabulous. The Library restaurant at Vendue will let you rent it out, I believe, and High Cotton too. I would also call up Poogan’s Porch (if their food got better since two years ago… ugh), Joseph’s downtown (if you’re doing brunch… OMG YUM) and FIG might be able to do it as well!

If I were going to have a restaurant reception in Chs, I would so rent out Al Di La if they let me. For any amount of money, I swear.

Good luck!

ETA: california dreaming is a little cliche, but it overlooks the water. And I think 28bridgeside closed but you could try it. I’m like 99% sure they’re closed now though.

Edit one more time: I don’t know if it’s still open, but there used to be a rooftop restaurant on the corner of King and Calhoun. Also, Vendue has a not-too-upscale rooftop restaurant.

Okay, I’m done now I think. 🙂

There is a nice outdoor chic area at Red Drum Gastropub in Mt. Pleasant. McCrady’s private room is nice as well. And upstairs at Anson is just perfect for 50 people. Good luck!

How close to charleston? There’s a fab place called the Wild Olive (I think) on John’s Island, or the Old Post Office restaraunt out at Edisto.

How nice are you going for? If you’re going for more casual, perhaps try Taco Boy or Mellow Mushroom’s upstairs room; Jim N Nick’s BBQ or Fiery Ron’s would be good. Those places are uber casual though.

Magnolia’s might be nice. Or Slightly North of Broad.. they might have a room, I can’t remember. There is a place called Fleet Landing that’s right by Waterfront Park but it’s not very nice. Jestine’s kitchen may rent out, but I’m not sure. Same with Rue… crap 39 Rue de Jean I think is the real name? Oh, and La Fourchette may work too!

Consider some restaurants on Shem Creek. RB’s, Red’s, Shem Creek Bar & Grill and Water’s Edge are good… I was really impressed with Water’s Edge. Vickery’s downtown may rent outside or inside, but Vickery’s Mt. Pleasant overlooks Shem Creek/the water.

I wish I could think of anywhere else!! I am officially tapped out for places I think would rent out… lol. Oh! If you want to look in I’On, there’s a place called Jacob’s Kitchen. Fiance RAVES about that place, that’s his parents “brunch” place and I’ve tried their food, definitely the best shrimp and grits i’ve ever had!
