Hello Bees 🙂
My Fiance and I are having a small ceremony at City Hall followed by a small dinner reception with our nearest and dearest. Our guest list is going to be maximum 40 people.
Does anyone know different restaurants in the downtown core that offer private dining options? We’ve looked at Canoe and Auberge du Pommier (which are nice) but we are wanting to look around and see what else is out there.
Any suggestions would be great!!

Harbour Sixty does private dining.
Most O&B restaurants do private dining as well. I know that Jump was just renovated, but I haven’t been yet, so I’m not sure what the private room looks like. Biff’s also has a private room, but I’m also not sure of the size.
Barbarian’s is a good steakhouse, I went with friends a while back and we had a private room, but I’m thinking there were only about 20 of us.
I would recommend calling around to different places and asking, it will also help you get the pricing and menu options.

@MapleLeafMel: I haven’t checked Harbour 60 yet…I’ll be sure to check there! I heard that Jump was just renovated…a friend was there and said it was pretty nice so I’ll definitely check that one out too. Thanks 🙂

I know Brassai does private events on King Street. Good luck.

Not sure if you are still looking. I’m getting married at Le Select Bistro. They have a private room that can fit 70. I believe it can be divided in half for smaller groups. The food is great. The menus are $39 or $49 per person. There are lots of good options on the cheaper menu.

@tropicalfish914: check the restaurants on Elm St. (Donatello, Oro, Barberians etc). I used to work as a concierge in downtown Toronto and I remember that they had some private rooms. Hope this helps!

In the Distillery District there is Archeo and also a private event space at El Catrin (used to be The Boiler House).

@tropicalfish914: I highly reccomend George on Queen (between Church and Jarvis). Their decor is great and the food is amazing! Don’t be scared by the menu, we did a tasting and often weren’t sure what exactly we were eating but it was very enjoyable! They have two private dining rooms which can be used together or separately.
We were considering having our wedding there, only reason it went off the list is they don’t have bar packages and we have a specific budget in mind.

I realize this thread is old. .. but incase someone comes looking
Terroni on Adelaide (wine cellar in the basement. .. starts at $35)
Marben (also in the basement. .. starts at $45)
Crush wine bar
Jump ( I want to say they start at $80)
The spoke Club (amazing food)
PjObriens (you can rent a private section out -it would be a very casual irish wedding or a fun rehursal dinner)
If you are looking for a small event space, Camp Ooch on Bathurst has a large room they rent that is all exposed brick and beams and one of the best rooftop patios in the city. You need to bring in tables and a caterer but they are very reasonable and you venue fee sends children with cancer to camp. They hold approx 65 I’d say?

This threads old, but has popped back up.. perhaps you’re still looking. Based on the research we did for our wedding, I can suggest:
Nikai (but its only 20 seated, 50 standing)
I don’t recall all of the exact numbers these can hold, but we ruled all but one out for one reason or another.

Just wanted to say thank you to the ladies who posted to this older thread! I just started planning a couple weeks ago, and this thread is exactly what I need. 🙂

Our venue is Caffino (Italian restaurant) near Liberty Village. You can rent out their large dining room and the price is very good (food is great too). We are having 40 guests. You also have excusive access to a private courtyard with a cute tree.
