We eloped in April 2014. I had worked hard to lose weight before the wedding and I did so good till my Grandmother passed away 4 months before the wedding. I was my Grandmothers caregiver so I had a lot of very stressful changes. I ended up gaining pretty much everything I had lost and I did not get the dress that I wanted because not only the weight gain but had money issues. I ended up ordering a dress offline. When it came in it was so beautiful, only one problem… it looked so bad on me. I measured wrong or something and my behind could barely fit lol. I received the dress about a week before we where to leave town to elope. We did not have anyone going with so it really did not matter what the dress looked like I suppose. All my photos we took where from chest up. We really only have a handful of selfies we took. I would really like a retake of him & I in my dress next fall so I have time to lose the weight again. Would that be strange to wait that long?
Sorry about any typos.

Sorry about the loss of your grandmother. Being a caregiver is a noble but difficult role. I think it’s great you’re wanting to make lifestyle changes and hopefully lose weight. Even if you fit better in your dress a year from now, I’m not sure if the repeat photoshoot could really recapture all those memories of getting married. Perhaps you could instead do a regular photo shoot to celebrate your weight loss and maybe to celebrate your anniversary or something.

I think you should do it, go all out and make a romantic day of it. As a bride once disappointed with my photos, I fully understand. Plus it will give you reason to break out the dress again

Absolutely do it! You will never regret doing it…and how much fun it will be! We had two photo shoots and it was the best decision ever.

Definitely do it!! It will make you feel amazing and I think when you look at these pics, even though they were done a year later, you will still remember your wedding day!
Sorry about your grandmother. I completely understand. I was my grandfathers caregiver this past year until he passed away the day after I got engaged in August. I was doing so well with my weightloss last year, but this year I’ve gained about 20lbs. I’m 5’0 so every pound is very noticable on my small frame. Luckily I have until feb 2016 to get it off before my wedding, but I would do the same thing you did if I was in your shoes. It’s such a hard situation. Thinking of you!

Thank you for your replies! I think I’m going to set a date and do it!
ksn1219: I also am short 5’3 so yea i had the same problem. My cousin (female)gained the same amount of weight as I did after my grandma passed, my cousin is almost 6 ft tall so you can barley tell she gained a lb.
Sorry to hear of your loss of your Grandfather
