I’m really struggling with what processional song to select for our wedding. It’s a very DIY retro wedding, I’m wearing a custom tea-length type of dress. Wondering if anyone can offer up some song selections I could walk down the aisle to?
I like Everyday by Buddy Holly, but someone I know is walking down the aisle to that so I don’t want to “steal” it. Of course another would be chapel of love by the dixie cups but I’m not sure.
Any other ideas would be very welcome!

artdeco: Sea of Love- I prefer the later version by the Honeydrippers
The Twelfth of Never by Johnny Mathis

artdeco: I had Come Rain or Come Shine – the Ray Charles version. I also had a tea length dress 🙂
Other songs I considered were Love me tender, this magic moment, stand by me, dearest (buddy holly), all of my life (sam cooke). There’s also at Last by etta james but that is quite popular now.

my go to thought is Earth Angel. it makes me think of Back to the Future 2 at his parents prom, and the song makes me melt.

Give me the Simple Life – Ella Fitzgerald’s live version is upbeat and fantastic. We are using it (at that speed) but on guitar

spink75: Yeah tea-length dresses were always the type of dress I wanted, but finding one was a big pain! You’d think dress shops would have you know, options! 🙂 I ended up having to get one custom made.

fascinated: Love that option by Darlene Love. I think that’s going to be in the possible choices! Thank you!

Thanks for the recommendations ladies!
I had asked my Maid/Matron of Honor for her opinion on 2 types of songs I should choose, something like chapel of love, or a score from a Jane Austen film (I’m a big Austen fan) and she said just go with what the feel of the wedding should be and mentioned her other friend used everyday by Buddy Holly.
Now I don’t know why I never thought of that song myself, but don’t want to poach the song, even though I think it’s quite perfect in terms of lightness, quirkyness and retro fun.
