Whoa.  Wait.  He has been diagnosed with PTSD and works fire/rescue?  Oh. Dear. Gawd

 . . . the last few times, it’s turned into something . . .

Bee, if you go back and read your post, you can see the pattern; as his confidence that you are getting more deeply into him grows; the interrogations escalate.  Bad pattern.

Talking about therapy is meaningless.  Busy lives, hectic schedules = meaninglessness; when stacked up against your mental health.

If he were serious about getting healthy, he would stop talking about it and do it.

Phew! Glad it’s not him lol

Keep an eye on PDA. Set boundaries. If he does something that makes you uncomfortable tell him no. Tell him what you are comfortable with. Holding hands, quick hello goodbye kisses. You should never feel uncomfortable in public. The PDA escalating when guys are around and him essentially marking his territory that’s a huge boundary issue for me. He’s not doing it for you, or because he even wants to he’s doing it for them and it’s weird and I don’t put up with that.

softdrink77 :  Bee, how are these topics even coming up? You say you’ve been dating about a year, is that right? It sounds like it’s escalating. Why is it your responsibility to address these issues with him and suggest therapy? If he knows this is HIS problem, why isn’t he trying to solve it? What steps has he actually taken here?

I would presume that your bf had some type of psych screening for his current position. How sensitive their testing would be to PTSD, I wouldn’t know.

The safety of the patients he treats and people he rescues, as well as the safety of his coworkers is paramount.
