I think as long as it’s cute and doesn’t look like something that a business would use for form letters, it’s probably ok (though I don’t know the actual etiquette on that.

However, I thnk it would look a lot nicer with the names. People are used to sending RSVPS to the bride and groom. I don’t think it would imply you were hosting to use your names. That is usually conveyed by the wording on the invitation, I think.

We got a to/from stamp custom made so I’d say a return stamp is perfectly acceptable! Plus, then you get to use it after the wedding too (I made ours with our first names only)!

I think it is completely fine!  I would include names though – it would seem oddly impersonal without them, in my opinion.

We stamped ours. I ordered a custom wooden stamp from Etsy and then purchased embossing ink and powder along with the embossing heat tool. We had extra envelopes on hand but out of the hundreds we did (RSVP envelopes, outer envelopes, etc.), we only had about 3 to 5 that didn’t turn out well. It was a nice touch and definitely fancier than handwriting it.

We did our first names (e.g. Jack and Jill) along with our address of our place, although we were also the ones hosting. I think a two line address looks weird so I felt compelled to fill in the name line with something.

We got one from Etsy with our first names and address and I love it. i used it on all wedding stuff and never even considered that it could be tacky.

I plan on using one too. You can get cute customized “wedding-like” ones.

I stamped ours!  Bought one on Etsy for like $25 when we bought our new house – I use it for everything!

If you’re worried about how it will look, I hand wrote who it was to on the front of the envelope and stamped the back flap with our return address.

I voted no, but I also don’t think you need to handwrite your address 300 times!  I just dislike the look of a stamp for formal mail.  You can order your RSVP envelopes pre-addressed.  For the return address, what about wraparound labels or a blind embosser?

Yes and Yes. We stamped ours with a really cute stamp from Sweet Papery. I just used it on our Christmas cards too. 😉

I also got a customized stamp from Etsy for this very reason.  To hell with etiquette, I think our classy stamp may even look BETTER than anything that could be handwritten.Laughing

@LittleRiver:  Wait, how is having them typed onto the envelope before you get them better than stamping them?  Neither option is hand written.

@MelBel:  imo, embossing return address on the back flap looks fanciest/nicest, with handwritten address (but I also had someone else volunteer to handwrite since my handwriting is abominable, so I only did the embossing)
