About a month ago, my fiance proposed with a beautiful ring from our local Zales store. The ring was the standard size 7, and had to be sized down to the proper side 5.5. This week, I noticed that two of the small stones on the side are out of place within the halo that surrounds my main stone, and that the main stone may have a few carbon spots. None of this seemed to be there before the ring went in to be sized, making me wonder if something happened during sizing. I keep staring at the flaws and it’s driving me crazy.
We did purchase the lifetime warranty for the ring. Would sales return /exchange the ring even though it has been sized? I really would just like the ring to look like it did when my fiance proposed.

I think they would be more likely to fix it than return or exchange the ring, but I think the best thing to do is bring it back and ask them what they can do.

Inclusions show up easier when a diamond is dirty, so this could be the case. I don’t have any experience with Kay jeweler’s, but I would def. go in and discuss my options.

Is your diamond a certified diamond? If so there is a number etched into it and then you will at least know whether or not they swapped diamonds on you or something.
As for exchanging I don’t know what they will do for you. Hope it works out for you.

Thank you everyone. I called Zales and they said they would return or exchange the ring for the full purchase price even though it has been sized because it is within 100 days of the purchase. Thinking about upgrading to the little bit bigger stone, but same ring.
Thank you all for your responses!
