Hi Bees! 🙂
Yep. I have my wedding dress. I didn’t think my dream dress in my mind could exist (well, with my budget), but it sure did.
First off, you should know that I am short. And petite. About 5 foot 2, but I know people who are shorter but it still doesn’t change the fact that finding the perfect dress is hard. But I found it, after swooning for a few months over it. And the price was right…and I followed my heart.
I am getting ready to reveal my wedding dress to my family soon (but you are first, hehe!!!). I had purchased this dress on Etsy.com from a very talented artist/designer. She graduted from UCLA with a degree in fine art and she decided she wanted to go into fashion. She had a heat of gold and I would recommend her to anyone!
My family was upset at first that I didn’t have a desire to do the traditional thing of taking everyone to go”dress shopping.” There’s just too many opinions and I know I would be easily swayed. I didn’t want to end up with a gown someone else loved on me. But, I followed my heart and bought the dress that spoke to me the most–they are excited to see this dress!
It sure was a risk, but I am SO incredibly happy with how everything turned out. It is all handmade and I have decided to have the sleeves re-done by seamstress to make them “off-the-shoulder” because I have always loved that look.
Just wanted to share my joy with you all! And I am sorry about the unzipped zipper, I was too tired to put it up all the way up since I can’t really reach high enough anyways. I know these photos aren’t of the greatest quality, but I will have BETTERI really hope they love it, too. But enough talking, here she is:
I thought I’d give credit to the designer who amde this dress. She customized it by adding silk, ivory buttons with the zipper in the back. I didn’t get a photo of the small puddle train, but it is gorgeous. I feel like my true-self in this dress, a princess, and a bride all at the same time. I feel beautiful, Bees 🙂 Thanks for letting me share my risk-taking adventure with you!
P.S. As an artist myself, it feels amazing to support someone who is passion about what they do!
