I have a private wedding board on pinterest only my bridesmaids and I can see and add to. I was planning on making a “reveal” after my wedding, and making it public. I find this funny because I know my firends are lurking my boards to see what my ideas are…I even have a decoy board.
I have a feeling a lot of my dress and actual wedding project pics will be repinned a lot.
Is anyone else doing this?

LOL My Pinterest wedding board had a TON of pins except I probably only used like 5 of them, if that. I even had dresses on there even though I had bought my dress before Pinterest was born. If my friends were following my Pinterest board to see where I was going with things, they would have be sorely confused when the day comes.
If you really know that they are lurking and you really have a significant amount of similar things as your board, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to leave it private until afterwards. I think it’s worth opening it up to the public afterwards so you don’t waste your limited secret board space and also for other brides to use. 🙂

@KingsDaughter: Yup. 🙂 I started a wedding pinterest board when I was single! When I got serious with my SO I repinned the things that would work for us on a secret board and I totally plan to make it public once I’m married cause it’s AWESOME! 🙂

@KingsDaughter: Hahaha! Love the decoy board idea! Wish I had thought of that! I have secret boards for the wedding but I don’t think anyone would care about them. All the important stuff is already out there.

@MexiPino: yup..it’s like the big behind the scenes reveal. lol
@lilbluebird: yes most of the poular things on pinterest i am not using. so once my goes public, i am sure i will give the public some newer ideas. i got a lot of my pins straight from the web (shock!) lol
@texasrandi: you be surprised who cares.

Such a cute idea! I had been pinning wedding things to a wedding board for a couple of years before getting engaged. Now, I have a real wedding board of things that go with my actual theme/colors that is private. I guess I do have a decoy board!

@KingsDaughter: Yep, I have one that my bridesmaids, my Mom and I can see. I had a regular one for a bit when we were first engaged but I started feeling a lot of pressure. People would ask me, “Oh, so your reception will look like that one with such and such?” or “So you’re going to do such and such? Are you sure??? Isn’t that kind of tacky/trendy/simple/extravagant/etc?” I felt like people were stalking it and either judging my choices (which weren’t even decided on yet) or were building up expectations. I figured no one needs to see it but me and the girls and I definitely didn’t need the pressure.
Let us know how the big reveal goes!

@TealMarie: Ugh! I can’t believe people were judging your “choices” based on what you had pinned! How crazy!

- Wedding: June 2014 - British Columbia
My dress pins were private.
But otherwise, I just saved everything by categories (using folders) on Firefox. 🙂
I actually find that there are really nice ideas on Instagram too.

@carrotstick: It was pretty annoying. I left the few pins I had in the public board and started a private one. Every once in a while I add something generic to the public one, like “15 ways to have a happy marriage” or “30 best photo poses for your wedding day”. Those girls don’t bother me anymore. I think I’ve bored them 🙂
