- Wedding: May 2013
As most of you know, DH and I eloped and cancelled our August wedding. Well, I was able to get most of what I had originally planned to with the wedding, but what I wasn’t too keen on was paying $45 at the local beauty school to get a mani/pedi, when I would have to ruin half of it in 3 days because I can’t wear artificial nails at work. I bite my nails, so artificial was the only way to go.
After a few hours of research I decided to bite the bullet and try out press on nails-and let me tell you, those things have evolved a LOT since the 1990’s when we all remember them from! At $5.99 for the finger nails, and $5.99 for the toe nails, I just couldn’t go wrong. I also purchased an additional glue set, just in case.
They went on pretty easy. The only downside was the glue got all over my finger, but that’s just me being my messy self and it came off with some hot water and rubbing, no biggie. In less than 5 minutes I had a gorgeous manicure! And for once in my life, I had pretty toenails! After getting three of them removed the the others cut down due to consistent ingrown toenails, I was used to having ugly nails but decided this was a weekend to make my feet pretty.
The only problem that I had all weekend was one of my finger nails popped off after I got it stuck under my dress when I was taking it out of the bag. No biggie, just grabbed the glue in my purse and voila!
Bottom Line: If you are looking for a cheap route to a gorgeous manicure, this is it! I’ll definitely be using these nails again in the future. I have never felt I had pretty nails!
Pro pic of my manicure…I’ll have to update with some close ups of my barefoot sandals so y’all can see the pedicure portion when I get the CD tomorrow.
