I don’t see what the point of giving your reviews of your vendors whether it’s good or bad on WeddingWire when the vendor can decide whether or not to post the review. I’ve given two reviews, one was overall good but she had a hard time responding which I included in my review and I see it didn’t even make it on the review section! Other brides who had a wedding AFTER me, their reviews are posted (and of course it’s all 5 stars). I don’t think it’s fair that the vendor gets to decide if they should post it or not, because the whole point is to make brides aware.
My venue (which I HATED, worst business ever) has not had ANY reviews since June 6, 2011. Hmm… I wonder why. I have not left a nasty review yet because we are waiting for our damage deposit back, but after it’s received, I am going to write one hell of a review. But what good will it do if they don’t post it to warn other brides?
I thought WeddingWire was supposed to reveal all reviews? Or maybe I was under the impression, but I personally don’t think it’s fair. If I saw the reviews of my venue before I booked them, I would have NEVER gone with them. It’s just a shame that vendors decide which reviews to post….

I was not aware they they have a choice of posting reviews. When I wrote one (it was not 5 star) it was posted immediately…..

I’ve heard about this before. Basically WeddingWire allows vendors to dispute reviews and in almost all cases they side with the vendor over the customer, so it’s possible for vendors to get negative or neutral reviews removed. It seems to be common practice because I’ve never seen another site with so many 5 star businesses.

I was not aware of this either. I wrote several vendor reviews and most of them were 4 or 5 stars but I did write 1 star review and it is up there.
I know that Yelp does the same thing though (pulling down unfavorable reviews etc.)

I am sorry that this has happened to you. I would suggest you look for the venue on other wedding sites and post on them. Many do not allow vendors to change what is posted by couples. I wish you the best of luck.
