(Closed) Rhinestones on the heels of your wedding shoes? yes? no? maybe?

I have never seen rhinestones on heels but I have a comment.

During my years of pageantry there were times when I would have rhinestones on the straps of my heels…and it almost never falled that a string or piece of fabric inside the dress would catch on the metal holding the rhinestones in place nearly causing me to trip.  It might be worthwhile to try to walk in your dress with the shoes on to ensure it won’t catch.

I think a line of small rhinestone crystals running down the back of the shoes, especially in one of your wedding colors, would be cute!  Or just in clear/white.

Too many or too big would probably look tacky though.  I would think you just want them as a small accent that only half the people will notice, instead of massive sparkley stones that take the focus off your dress.

I think it is super cute! I think this idea is coming from the new issue of InStyle Weddings on newstands now. The bride on the cover, can’t remember her name, had these to die for Prada heels with rhinestones on the heels. Check it out for inspiration! 🙂

I say go for it!

As another former pageant girl (former Miss America Prelim winner) I’d say no to that.  Could get caught in the hosiery.

This is a cute idea.  Why not decorate the arch in the shoe?  NOT the bottom mind you, but this way and get a cute photo?  You don’t want to be shedding rhinestones all day anyway off the heels or ripping dress or hose.

This is from Southern Weddings Magazine.  Very very cute!  I might do this.  Scroll down to the cute chartreuse/aqua wedding and see her heels.

There are also some great shoes out there which have enough bling on them to satisfy your sparkle factor!

I had rhinestones on my ankle strap… they looked great and were set in a way that they did not snag on anything!  I think that rhinsones on the heel would be beautiful!

Here is a pic of my shoes:  http://calioc.blogspot.com/2008/08/wedding-pics.html

Love the Nette’s idea of the rhinestone decals on the arch. Mindy Weiss sells cute ones.

Yes, rhinestones are ALWAYS tacky, BUT I LOVE THEM ANYWAY!!!! Check out my wedding shoes!

I agree that placing them on the heels may snag your dress. There are so many blingy shoes out there, just get a pair! Or place a shoe brooch on the front, but sometimes adding onto your shoes can make it look like you added something onto your shoes!

Have you heard of the Something Blue from Stuart Weitzman? They can put blue Swarovksi crystals on the bottoom of your shoes with your names and date! If you’re quite skilled with the tweezers and glue (I make models for a living) you could do it yourself!
