@alexroet:  Check out Scrumptions bakery in East Greenwich.  They have a great website too!  As for rehearsal, what’s your budget?

I live in RI but our wedding is in VT.  Any brides out there using mason jars in a wedding before sept and want to sell them to me?  I’m looking for blue mason jars.  Thanks!

Anyone want to share their rehearsal dinner spots?  FILs were supposed to take care of it but bailed so now Fiance and I are trying to find somewhere we can afford…

I’m getting married in RI!!  Mostly everything is booked, yay!   (St Mary’s Church Bristol- ceremony, Kinney Bungalow -reception, two rental houses for a week, Infinite Events – DOC, Susan Sancomb – photography, Allison Barbera Beauty – MUA/Hair)

I’m just trying to decide on a caterer, need to find a cake company, and a florist, and that should be it!

anchors_away:  I can’t help you on rehersal dinner spots unforunately, we are probably going to do a clam bake either at one of our rental houses or on the beach.  Perhaps that would be an option for you?  I know there are a few clambake companies that will come to your location and set the the whole thing up, feed everyone and break it down.

@PeachSnapple:  If you are still looking for a cake place, we recently booked with Dyane’s Sweet Tooth in Cumberland and they are amazing!

@anchors_away:  Twelve Acres in Smithfield offers amazing rehersal dinner packages, low cost and great food. We are actually having our wedding reception there.

So this thread was revived (at least) once…maybe it can happen again? We’ve booked the Towers and the South Ferry Church for June 2015, but as we currently live in San Diego I would really appreciate any tips or recommendations for vendors. I’m currently looking especially for caterers, photographers, and DJs. If anyone had vendors that they loved or found easy to work with and were reasonably priced, send some suggestions my way! 🙂

@2015_narragansettbride_phd:

My wedding was in June so here is my list:

Catering:   Blackstone Catering.  They were very good, everyone was impressed with the food and I thought that while they were VERY pricey, they really leant a certain cache to the event.

My second choice would have been West Bay Gourmet.  They are a smaller operation, but their food is really good.

Makeup and HairL   Allison Barbera Beauty.   The girl who did our makeup, Jessica, was phenomenal! Great job on everyone from myself, to my bridesmaids, to the MOG!  The Maid/Matron of Honor was so impressed that her makeup looked so great throughout our whole humid day AND a dunk in the pool during the after-party.    The girl who did our hair, Emily, was not so good. She’s just NOT good at “down” hairstyles, which I should have realized after the one disastrous hair trial, and one of her updos was falling out constantly through the whole day. I actually got a refund for the botched job she did on my mother’s hair.   From what I hear, Allison Barbera is actually quite a makeup genius, so if you can book HER, I would do so!

Photography:  Susan Sancomb Photography. She takes amazing photographs, but I have to be honest, while we clicked via email we did NOT click in person like I was hoping.   And she was also impossible to get ahold of after final payment (right before the wedding she went MIA and after the wedding she was just insanely unresponsive.  I’d ask her when I’d get my photos, she’d say soon, 2 weeks would pass, no response, I’d email again, rinse repeat.  Same when I asked about additional photos that weren’t sent in the proofs but that I KNOW existed.  I’d just never get a response.   It got very irritating tbh.)   I don’t regret having her do the photographs, but I kind of wish I had met in person with her beforehand….

DOC:  Infinite Events.   Was impressed by the job they did as things got VERY hectic the day of and I definitely needed the extra hands on board.

DJ:  Moondance Productions.   He was perfect and the price was excellent ($600).  He played everything we requested, kept people dancing, and wasn’t overbearing or anything.  I was very happy with his services!

Hope that helps!!  RI is a BEAUTIFUL place for a wedding!!!

  • Wedding: October 2010

My wedding was a few years ago now (October 2010) but I’m happy to share vendors. Ours were all outstanding, we were very happy with all of them! I put full reviews for most of them on WeddingWire if you want to search them out for more detail.

Caterer: Pranzi Catering. I cannot say enough about Pranzi Catering. They totally impressed us through every step of the wedding process. The food and service were both incredible, and Lisa (Matiello, the owner) really worked with us on price and customizing our menu.  Seriously it’s 3.5 years later and people are still approaching us to rave about the food and ask who the caterer was.

Photographer: Mandy Mayberry Photography. She was amazing, she gave 110% to capture the feel of the wedding and it showed in the pictures. She also was incredible reasonable on price – although at the time she was just starting out so her prices may have gone up by now.

We didn’t have a DJ – my husband is a musician so we had several of his bands & musician friends play throughout the day.

Those are the main ones you mentioned, but if you’re looking for others…

Flowers: Florals by Alisa – great price and I was totally in love with my bouquets, they were amazing. Exactly what I wanted. She even took the bouquet charms I had made (memorial pictures of my father, my husband’s father, etc.) ahead of time and pinned them into the ribbon wrap, and came onsite to put the centerpieces together for me the morning of.

Hair/Makeup: Sara Faella. Sara is fabulous, and SO sweet. We all looked gorgeous, and our look lasted all day – even at the beach, on an overcast, damp day. My makeup looked very natural in person (very important to me) but still popped for the photographs. I have curly hair that frizzes easily, and my curls were smooth and controlled right to the last minute. And my Maid/Matron of Honor was floored that Sara could get her hair to hold curls all day. Amazing, worth every penny!

Officiant: Paula Taylor from Heart and Soul Ceremonies. Rev. Paula was wonderfully personal, from the first moment I spoke with her. On the wedding day she was warm and welcoming. Every one of our guests who met her said she was just a wonderful person, and that the ceremony was beautifully done. She made our wedding ceremony be exactly what we wanted it to be. I wholeheartedly recommend her!

Photobooth: Shutterbooth RI. This is probably not a trend anymore, but we LOVED having one and so did our guests. Shutterbooth was great with everything, start to finish.

Congratulations and have fun with your planning! Best wishes for a beautiful day!!

I was married at North Beach Clubhouse in Narragansett, RI. The location is right on the beach. You Can not beat the view or the price of venue. Saturday summer wedding $1,100 venue fee.  The venue is a small clubhouse but has a very large deck to get married on that faces the ocean. You have to rent tent through Liberty Rental. NBCH has a contract with them. Guest eat inside and dance under the tent outside. The clubhouse can accomadate 100 people including service staff. The venue just purchased new natural colored wooden garden chairs. Tables are also included in rental including banquett tables. You may want to rent high top cocktail tables for outside. The inside is plane & you cant hang anything on the walls, but your on the beach and that should be guest focus. I was very happy with our choice.
