I’m going to drive myself insane!
My wedding is not until next summer but I can’t stop thinking about dresses. I’m pretty sure I found THE one….no other style has done it for me…. when I try this style on I don’t want to take it off.. but am worried that it’s too early and that I’ll second guess myself. I know this is probably the style that I’ll end up with.but can’t decide on what material I like. I’ve tried them on so I know how they fit..and know this is the style that flatters my body the most. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take photos…because the salon wouldn’t let me .
So…my question for you ladies….
If you were to get married in August would you pick rich taffeta or bridal satin for the material of your gown?
Here are the two gowns…pretty much the same idea…but the maggie sottero one is satin and the Allure one is taffeta. the maggie has buttons , but not all the way down, whereas the allure has buttons all the way down the back.
Here are the two dresses:

I have to say that I’m more a fan of the taffeta rather than the satin.
IMO satin can be a difficult fabric to wear if the fit of the dress is not perfect whereas the taffeta tends to be more forgiving.
Definitely love the style of those dresses tho!

Not a big satin fan so I voted for the taffeta which is my dress material as well 😉

I personally love the taffeta. I love the way it looks, it is my favorite “bridal” material, and I love the way you feel in it.

Taffeta would be better for a summer wedding, so that is my vote!

I vote for the taffeta as well.

I like the overall look/feel of taffeta in the pictures 🙂

I love them both, but I have seen the second one a lot. If I was choosing the dress, I would choose the satin one; however, if you sweat a lot, you should choose the second one. I don’t sweat a lot, so the first one would work for me.

Im going to go with Satin…just looks more elegant In My Humble Opinion.

Not a big fan of Satin..But I love the Taffeta! It is a beautiful dress!!

I voted for tafetta. I’m wearing a tafetta in my August wedding! I felt that the lighter fabric was perfect for hot weather.

Satin looks more formal – taffeta is better for summer.

Taffeta is going to be way better for you in August, in regards to temperature. Satin looks beautiful, but boy will you be sweating bullets wearing it!
