I love them both! I think it kinda depends what feel you want for your wedding. For me, my venue factored in to what type of dress I ultimately chose. I think the satin one is gorgeous, more upscale, classy, formal, and elegant (chandeliers and roses). Whereas the taffeta would be better suited in the summertime in a garden (still elegant, classy, and gorgeous!) Oh and the sweating factor that noritake22 brought up is something else to consider. But of course, at the end of the day, it’s really about which dress feels more YOU, what you feel most beautiful in 🙂
If we are going purely on which I prefer though, I would say the Allure dress. It just looks so fresh, soft and sweet. Good luck!

The taffeta one is my dress! I can personally testify that is is a very lightweight, comfortable dress and the taffeta does not look “cheap” at all. It’s not that thin, rustly taffeta that you can hear a mile away.
I hate the model pic. The dress looks SO much better on a “real” person.

I picked taffeta as well. Sweat, wine, any kind of grease, dirt, etc.. will be a nightmare with the satin.

@zippylef: you look amazing ! Thanks so much for sharing…. I’m thinking this is definitely the one.

my dress is taffeta and I love it. Looking at pictures of satin dresses on the models, i hate it! I think taffeta is the way to go!

I voted for taffeta.
I specifically picked tafetta for my wedding dress because my tablecloths are satin. Not only that, when I was trying on dresses the satin got super hot! Even walking around the bridal shop I got all sweaty and gross. Yuck!

I voted taffeta because I agree with PPs that taffeta is a much lighter fabric and better suited for a summer wedding.

@Almy_al: I kind of felt the same way! When I tried on the satin gown it made me a bit nervous because it felt warm as it is…and we still have winter weather here!

I like satin for sheets, not dresses! Too shiny for my taste!

Normally I’m a fan of satin. But in this case I think the dress is more beautiful in taffeta. it has a softer more romantic look.
