Bah! So I was just registered for my next classes, and I was piecing together what my daily schedule will look like next fall and it’s ridiculous! I may as well live on campus! Where in there can I squeeze in a job with all those class times? I was hoping to be able to work next semester but I’m not sure if that’s possible, unless somewhere wants to hire me to work one or two days a week! But I couldn’t tell you who would do that! Any suggestions?
Mondays, 7:30am, 1:30pm, and 6
Tuesdays, 9am, 3pm, and 5:30
Wednesdays, 7:30am and 1:30pm
Thursdays 9am and 3pm! Bear in mind most classes (except the late ones) are only an hour and a bit! I have GIGANTIC breaks in between classes! So stupid >.<

I think my current schedule may beat yours… At least my Tuesday and Thursday courses.
Monday: (my good day) 1:40
Tuesday: 9:25, 12:15, 3:05, 7:30
Wednesday: 10:50 (which is a two and a half hour lab), 1:40, 4:45(another two and a half hour long lab)
Thursday: 9:25, 12:15, 3:05, 7:30
But I do get a ton of homework done at school.
The upcoming fall isn’t quite as bad.
Monday: 12:15, 4:45 (two and a half hour lecture)
Tuesday: 1:40, 4:45 (two and a half hour lecture), 7:20
Wednesday: 12:15, 4:45 (two and a half hour lecture)
Thursday: 1:40, 4:45 (two and a half hour lab), 7:20
Friday: 8am (Senior seminar that is supposed to run between 2 and 4 hours.)

Oh gosh. Good luck! I don’t even have my schedule yet and won’t until August… for classes that start in August!

Are there any student worker positions available? Usualy the pay isn’t great but there are usually ways to get at least 10 to 20 hours of work in and have at least a little money.

Apparently when I tried to copy my post from word I missed part of it. I’d intended to add that you should look for a grader position. I think its standard 50 hours per semester so it isn’t a lot but it helps.

@trueblue14: I asked about jobs on campus. Apparently my school only provides them to students who live on campus, and I do not.
@NoOneYouExpect: Graders? As in, just grading papers? That would be fun. Would I just ask my professors if they need a hand? I know most of my prof’s have someone like this already..

@Omgbunnies: Yeah. I told one of my professors I was having trouble finding a job and he immediatly told me I should grade for him. So I’ve got a job set up for the fall grading homework and lab reports. The course I’m grading for also has a lab section so I’ll be getting paid to watch the freshmen build lego robots and lend a hand when they get stuck.
Theoretically the system is set up so you can go to your department’s admin office and put your name in the hat but I think having a prof you are on good terms with helps.

@Omgbunnies: You poor thing! Ugh…there’s nothing…and I mean NOTHING worse than a schedule with gaps in it! You will make it through though. The only good thing is that you have time to do other work so you can just chill when you get home. 🙂

@Omgbunnies: That’s crazy! Are there any coffee shops or restaurants nearby you could hop over to work at? Are you a good student? Maybe you could tutor other students…?
